Ezines And Content Nurturance

Ezines And Content Nurturance by: Scott Lindsay
Did you know that of the 25 million people in the United States that consider themselves writers only 5% of them will ever be published? If that seems an astonishing figure it should also point to an opportunity for those who create business or industry related ezines. How is this an opportunity? If you are like most business owners you may have trouble locating fresh content. You may borrow from industry publications (with permission of course), you may try your hand at writing content yourself from time to time or you might use a free-article directory to make your ezine sparkle. However, you can also work to foster an atmosphere where struggling writers can add to their portfolio while providing fresh content for your ezine. How can you do this? Well, this can be accomplished through multiple avenues. Let’s take a look at a few. 1) Posting a classified notice within your ezine. Let your subscribers know you’re open to receiving reader content. If they are reading your ezine they probably already have an interest in the subject matter you address. You may have one of those multiplied millions of writers just looking for an opportunity reading your online publication. 2) Visiting a writer’s forum. In many of these forums you can post a freelance opportunity alerting writers to the fact that you have a need for material. You can determine what you can pay and either state it in the body of your need or let the writer know when they contact you. If you are not able to pay the writer then you should consider providing a byline and website link as a way of thanking them for their contribution. 3) Go on an intentional search for a writer. Many writers’ websites will feature writing samples from members. Look for a style you’re interested in and a writer who may have some understanding of your industry. It’s possible to nurture writers from these three sources as you seek to grow and diversify your ezine. Many of these volunteer writers may have creative ideas to make your ezine better. You might even suggest a writing contest as part of the ezine. This can be enhanced with the offer of free gifts and or business products. Many individuals respond very well to contests and, as evidenced by the opening statistic, there are a lot of aspiring writers looking for the type of opportunity you can provide. Ezines can be both informative as well as a spiffy looking tool for marketing your business. Why not use the development of an ezine to help you fulfill your dream of an upwardly mobile business while offering an aspiring writer the opportunity to fulfill a few dreams of his or her own. The result can be mutually beneficial. Inviting others to share in your dream can benefit your business and help lighten the production load. The diversity in the content can allow you the opportunity to improve readership and instill a greater sense of interest in your ezine. Nurture the inner desire most writers have and provide an avenue of publishing that can help them reach their goals.

BUSINESS CARD

How to Print Business Cards
So you’ve got your new business up and running, the customers are starting to call, but you really need some basic marketing tools, such as business cards, that you can give away to customers. You’re busy running a business, so you just want to print business cards and get it over with fast. Here are a few tips to make the process as painless as possible:• Go to the professionals - Yes, you could save some money by printing your cards yourself, but you will probably not save any time. Plus, until you’ve mastered some design basics, your cards will probably have an amateur look and feel to them.• Have your logo on file - If you have a corporate identity or logo that you use, have it on a CD or at least be able to e-mail the logo. Keep it in a place that you can access quickly. You should also always have the file in a couple of different formats: JPEG, BMP, and TIFF formats are very popular and easy to use.• Have your information ready - If you have several employees, and you want them to have their own cards, have all of their names, phone numbers, and email addresses ready. Nothing is more frustrating than printing cards where you spelled the last name of one of your employees incorrectly or have the wrong phone extension on the card.• Know what your customers expect - Most of the time a simple business card design is fine. But some businesses, especially those in creative fields, should consider something a little more radical. If you are a creative firm, your customers probably expect a creative card. But professionals such as attorneys, doctors, accountants, and the like should consider a simple, clean look.Following these tips will keep you out of most problems and maintain your headaches to a minimum. When you are ready to print business cards, understand that the local print shops often require a minimum quantity. These minimums usually range anywhere from 250-1000 business cards at a time. So, this makes it all the more important that you have your information together and to make sure that you get it right the first time.

FOUR SIMPLE WAYUS TO MAKE YOUR MONEY WITH E-BOOKS

Make More Money From Your Ebooks - 4 Simple and Easy Ways
So you've written an ebook. Now what?Ebook writing, like book writing, can be a lucrative way to sell your products and services, as well as vary the offerings on your website. The advantage of selling ebooks is that you can automate the process from start to finish. Once you've written your ebook, all you have to do is create a sales page, set up your payment processing, and you're in business. You probably know already that you should write a press release, as well as articles, and submit them to the appropriate directories. These two techniques will help you get the word out about your new ebook. However, have you considered these techniques?1. Submit to Ebook DirectoriesThere are at least 20 different ebook directories on the internet. This doesn't include the directories you can submit your ebook to if you are selling your ebook. You can create a sample chapter or a sample of your ebook and submit it to the free directories. This will help you build backlinks to your website, as well as give your ebook a better exposure.2. Sell on Lulu - If you want to use the real power of leverage, you can sell your product on Lulu. Lulu allows you to upload unlimited manuscripts for free and set them up to sell them. You can also offer a print version of your ebook, as well as audios or videos. This allows you to expand your product line very easily.Lulu handles the sales process from start to finish for you and sends you a check each month. Lulu takes a 20 percent commission on each sale and you get the rest. For a small fee, you can use global distribution and get your ebook in all of the major online bookstores.3. Start an Affiliate ProgramAn affiliate program is another powerful form of leverage you can use to sell your ebook. By using an affiliate program, you can build your own sales force to sell for you. Although you will need to pay commissions, this is a passive form of sales for you, and you make money from the efforts of others. When you use the right affiliate program management software, you can build valuable backlinks to your website. This will raise your rankings in the search engines and maybe give you some extra traffic and sales.4. Get ReviewsThis is actually a combination of affiliate programs and joint ventures. Depending on who you ask to review your new ebook, you could walk away with all of the profits. Some sites are looking for new material to talk about, not join your affiliate program or joint venture. By finding reviewers for your new ebook, you can build backlinks, create a buzz about your new ebook, and further increase your network of passive traffic. When looking for sites to review your ebook, use a site like Alexa to help you find high traffic sites on your topic. Search the sites for reviews and contact site owners.
